    Spill Way dam is 1.18KM long and is being built between two hills right beside the Godavari River Flow..The Polavaram Dam is not constructed like any other dam across..but there will be two storage dams..One will hold water on its actual flow(Couffer Dam) and the actual storage will be done through the Spill Way Dam. The water storage in spill way dam is diverted from before 2kms to the Site. The Couffer Dam takes the pressure of the flow and the stored water comes back into the spillway dam.... See more
