Everytime I look at this picture, I can still hear what I heard when I shot it.
Silence.
Yes, absolute silence and the songs of the waves and the whistles of winds and the eternal audience of sands and skies; and me, a bypasser.
This picture was taken at VilloondiTheertham, on the way to reach Rameswaram and has its own mythological stories.
One of them goes that Lord Rama and his troops, after reaching Sita, were travelling through here, back to Ayodhya and Rama shot an arrow through the sea to bring about a spring of fresh water from underneath the saline sea water, to quench Sita's thirst.
That is how this place got its name: villu+oondi+theertham = water sprung by bow.... See more
