Ragunan Wildlife Park was founded on September 19, 1864 in Batavia (now Jakarta) under the name "Planten en Dierentuin". This was first managed by the Batavia Flora and Fauna Lovers Association (Culture Vereniging Planten en Dierentuin at Batavia). Ragunan Wildlife Park is a park covering an area of 147 hectares and inhabited by more than 2,009 animals and overgrown by more than 20,000 trees making the environment cool and comfortable.
