Humayun's Tomb, as the name suggests, was the final resting place of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. It is located in the eastern region of the Nizamuddin area of Delhi and is the main garden burial ground in the Indian subcontinent. This magnificent tomb of architecture was built by Bega Begum, the Empress in 1569-70. It was designed by Persian architect Mirak Mirza Ghiyat. Humayun's Tomb was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993 for its outstanding design and history.
