This photo is a close up image of a purple lotus flower which has just bloomed. The flower is in focus while the background shows it's leaves. It also has a few dew drops over it's petals. Some of the petals are illuminated by the sunrays giving it some depth. The photo shows the the stamens (androecium) and carpels (gynoecium) which themselves are very vividly coloured.
