Great apes have the largest bodies of all primates. However, there are only five species that fit into this category: orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos — and humans! While humans live all over the globe, orangutans live in the Southeast Asian countries of Borneo and Sumatra, and the rest of the great apes live only in equatorial Africa. Non-human apes live in rain forests and woodlands, and are excellent at climbing, though with the exception of orangutans, they mostly travel on the ground.
